Avis voted Africa's Leading Business Car Rental Company 2011
Avis has once again been voted “Africa’s Leading Business Car Rental Company” at the World Travel Awards 2011 held in Egypt on the 16th September, proving that the company continues to deliver on its brand promise, “We try harder”.
The World Travel Awards, described as the ‘Oscars’ of travel and tourism, are now in their 18th year, and are considered to be the most prestigious and highly coveted awards programme in the industry. Their aim is to encourage world-class competition, stimulate innovation and creativity and to ensure travellers receive exceptional value. The awards themselves serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the mentioned industries.
Avis chief executive, Wayne Duvenage says, “The Southern Africa region managed by Avis SA accounts for almost 80% of Africa’s car rental business, a great achievement by all our offices and teams involved.
“Avis is very honoured to accept such a respected award and delighted to be part of the biggest travel event of the year. With a phenomenal 213,000 industry professionals participating in the voting process, this is a huge compliment to Avis,” he adds.
Avis strives to ensure that customers receive the highest level of service that goes beyond car rentals alone. The company believes in making a difference to the environment through various eco-focused initiatives, as well as their people by empowering, inspiring, developing and living the promise to try harder for their customers and partners. This passion has transcended into the leading car rental brand that is Avis.
“We would not be able to achieve and maintain such a high standard of delivery without the dedication and support of our Avis brand ambassadors and Avis Family member countries throughout Africa. Our committed network adds to the strength of the brand,” concludes Duvenage.
